The Consulates General of the European Union commemorated Europe Day in Toronto

The Consulates General of the European Union commemorated Europe Day in Toronto. Europe Day (May 9) is held every year and is the celebration of European peace and unity. On this day, we celebrate the anniversary of the historic Schuman statement. This year, in addition to the EU Delegations in different parts of the world, the EU Consulates in Toronto also actively participated in the commemorations.

The exuberant program consisted flag raisings before the Provincial Parliament and City Hall of Toronto, a conference on uncovering the opportunities offered by the Canadian-EU Free Trade Agreement (CETA) and the EU Talks panel discussion on the challenges and future of the EU. Stefánia Szabó, Consul General and the Dean of the Consular Corps of Toronto spoke at the flagraising before Parliament, and stressed the value and significance of the preservation of the European achievements.
