Business development trip to Saskatchewan
Business development trip to Saskatchewan Exploring the areas (education, trade, investment, joint ventures) of closer cooperation between Hungary and Saskatchewan Consul General Stefania Szabo and economic and trade attaché Mariann Demeter-Pintér concluded a two day trip to the smallest province in population of our consular district, Saskatchewan. On day one we visited Saskatoon, the biggest city in the province and had discussions with Darla Lindjberg, President & CEO of the Greater Saskatoon Chamber of Commerce. We toured the University of Saskatchewan, had forward looking discussion on bilateral education cooperation with Prof. James Lee and Vice-Dean Dr. Gordon DesBrisay. We also visited Canadian Light Source, the leading centre for research excellence in health, agriculture, environment, and advanced materials. We also met with representatives of the local Hungarian community.
On day two of our Saskatchewan trip, we visited the Hungarian pilot contingent in Moose Jaw, who are trained in NATO cooperation with Canada. We had a meeting in STEP (Saskatchewan Trade & Export Partnership) with market specialist Réka Gajári and Megan Bradshaw of Economic Development Regina. We also held extramural consular days in both Saskatoon and Regina.
Had very informative days and raised the profile of Hungary in the province called the Land of Living Skies.
