EU Consulates in Winnipeg for trade mission

7 EU Consulates - Germany, France, The Netherlands, Poland, Italy, Croatia and Hungary were on a two-day trade mission on March 22-23, 2018, in Winnipeg to hold business meetings with Manitoban stakeholders. On day one we started our meetings with the Government of Manitoba, headed by Premier Brian Pallister, and six other ministers where CG Stefánia Szabó introduced the EU group as well as the aim of our trip. CETA provides new opportunities in deepening the business relations. We held four roundtable discussions on different sectors: agriculture, advanced manufacturing, and Look North regional development & tourism. Business Council of Manitoba hosted our group for a business lunch and constructive dialogue. To conclude our day the Lieutenant Governor of Manitoba hosted a reception to honour our initiative.

On day two we visited the Composites Innovation Centre and the Richardson Centre for Functional Foods and Nutraceuticals innovation centres. We also participated at the State of the City address by Mayor Bowman organized by the Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce. To conclude our mission we visited the Canadian Museum of Human Rights.

There are plenty of areas to deepen the cooperation between the European Union and Manitoba - we are working on making it happen.
