Herend’s Jewish heritige exhibition opened in Toronto
World famous Herend Porcelain's 190+ years old Judaica Porcelain exhibition opned for the first time in North-America in Toronto on 12 September, 2019. The Consulate General of Hungary invites you to discover Hungary’s cultural heritage through a sample of Herend’s Jewish heritage. Since 1826 our white gold Herend porcelain is considered a Hungarian national treasure. Still manufactured today by skillful hands and painted by master painters according to centuries-old traditions, as it was shown live during the opening.
In his opening speech Consul General Valér Palkovits emphasized that Jewish culture has its Renaissance in Hungary and the Hungarian Government has done great many things to promote the cultural revival of the Jewish community in Budapest and in Hungary. He concluded that “Herend’s Jewish Heritage is a clear proof that tradition and modernity, and the cultural diversity inspired by all living in Hungary can produce magnificent and unique things indeed”.
The unique exhibition featuring the story and art of the Herend Seder Plates can be visited till Januray 5, 2020 at the Beth Tzedec Congregation Ruben&Helene Dennis Museum.
